General Sitwell's Chief Cipher Officer, at British HQ, Lembang, Java. Evacuated with Wavell's staff from Singapore, captured on tea plantation near Garoet. March - October 1942 at Tandjong Priok, Yoseda Maru (to Singapore), Singapore Maru to Moji, Japan.
