Alan was killed at RAF Tengah when a Venom aircraft hit his Landrover on the night of 25th April 1957 killing both Alan and J/T Pete Arundel, an electrician.

Alan’s funeral was at Bukit Timah Military Cemetary

In the 1960s all graves were exhumed and were reinterred at Kranji.
