The 7000 PoWs which made up ‘F’ Force were mostly sick and promised a place to convalesce.
After five days by train they were walked through the jungle during the nights to their place of work which was 300 km from Nong Pladuk. This took them two weeks many died along the way.
‘F’ Force contained 7000 PoWs, 44% of ‘F’ Force died on the Thailand-Burma Railway (3027 PoWs).
