HMS Exeter (13 Aug 1936 - 29 Feb 1940)
Served on her prior to and during early part of WW2, he was an Able Bodied Seaman at the time of the battle of the River Plate against the Graf Spey. Thought likely to have been on the 4 inch guns during the battle.
HMS KENYA (12 Jul 1940 - 3 Sep 1942)
A Fiji Class Light Cruiser, launched on the 18th August 1939. In May 1941 as part of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron she was involved in the hunt for the Bismarck (May 1941) and also took part in the relief of Malta (Operation Pedestal, August 1942).

Victor was married on the 14th August 1948 in his uniform.
Discharged from the Navy dead on 23rd September 1948. He was killed as a result of a Gunnery accident at Wembury.
A shell had become stuck in the breach and blew up, with the blast killing him.
Buried at Canford Cemetry Westbury On Trim Bristol (Plot 147 Pink QQ).
