Served on the hospital ship ‘HMAS Manunda’ which was berthed about 20 mile from the Hiroshima explosion.
The Manunda was present at the surrender ceremony.
Died
9th May 2008
George died just a few days ago a few months shy of his 85th birthday.
Which means he lied about his age to serve in WWII.
