Japan Party 2 was in a convoy of 10 ships, four containing PoWs (Harushika Maru, Hofuku Maru, Rashin Maru and Sekiho Maru). After sailing along the coast of Borneo the convoy arrived at Manila without the Hofuku maru, which had developed engine problems and had berthed in Borneo.
1944/ 07/16 - Arrived Manila
1944/8/09 - The convoy containing the Asaka Maru sailed for Taiwan.
1944/08/13 the convoy ran into a typhoon.
1942/08/17 - 738 poWs were transferred to Hukusan Maru at Takao, Taiwan after Asaka Maru was damaged in the typhoon.
1944/08/22 - Hukusan Maru continued onto Japan.
1944/08/30 - Arrived Japan and transported to Fukouka 2D
