Thomas died when the SS Ceramic was torpedoed and sunk by a German Submarine.

Out of the 500 on board when leaving Liverpool, on the 23rd November 1942 for Australia, only one survived.

 

1943/08/28 - WO417/005, Casualty List No. 1224. Previously shown on Casualty List No. 1028 as reported Missing 06-07/12/1942. ‘Presumed Killed in Action’.
