Arthur was a Scottish civilian engineer, working in Singapore when it fell.
He then spent the duration in a prisoner of war camp, at Changi Jail and then Sime Road Camp.
Arthur made this bamboo Container as an Internee
Post War
Arthur made it back to England, then went back to "Straits Settlements" before going to Australia in 1952.
Arthur found it hard to overcome his experience as an Internee.
